Specialists of JSC "NEM" began dismantling the third hydroelectric unit of the Power plant-13, located on the river Tuloma in the immediate vicinity of Murmansk for its overhaul, which will last more than six months. During this time, we will carry out a large amount of work, including reconstruction of the guide vane with the replacement of several parts, repair and reconstruction center bowl,  grooves the turbine shaft , repair of hydraulic and industrial water supply, etc.

Prehistory of  these  works is remarkable.  Competition for the performance of major repairs was carried out in July 2009 and the winner was recognized  by repair organization with the lowest price.

However, during the preparatory work, it became clear that contractor can not complete the full volume of work in time and with sufficient quality. And then the leadership of the branch "Kolsky" of JSC "TGC-1" has decided to turn to the JSC "NEM" asking about the possibility of these works on time and in strict accordance with technical specifications.

JSC "NEM", adopted this proposal, and despite the lost time to prepare for the repair and the need to adjust  their own production plans, immediately began placing orders for the manufacture of components
to exactly meet the deadline. Nevertheless, it is clear that having more time to prepare for the repairs  could shorten the time of repair and compensate the customer a higher cost of repair, offered by our company.

From the above it can be the obvious conclusion - cheapness should not be a key criterion in selecting performers for repair of hydraulic equipment. In the first place should still be quality of work,  but the quality and reliability, as we know, can not be very cheap.  Effect of disregard the standards of quality in the hydropower industry, shown by the recent tragic events in the Sayan-Shushenskaya GES.
