Overhaul
of the fourth hydropower unit of the Hydroelectric Power Plant Niva GES-3, located in Kandalaksha, Murmansk
region successfully
completed.
The specialists of JSC "NEM" and OOO "LER-Electroservice"
completed overhaul of hydroelectric unit
number 4.
Repairs lasted five and a half months from October 2011. During the repair, it was carried out disassembly and removal of the
generator rotor, replacing the old generator stator winding to a new, renovated
thrust bearing, upper and lower bearings of the generator, the reconstruction
of fire-fighting system, repair of cavitation damage on the blades of the turbine
runner and runner chamber, turbine bearing repair, maintenance and adjustment
of the wicket gate, etc. Then, the unit was re-assembled and after passing all the
necessary checks and adjustments passed to the operating personnel of the Power Plant.
This renovation has provided reliable operation of hydraulic unit for next 7-8 years.
