Realiazation of large reconstruction project Iovskaya HPP OJSC "TGC-1" have been performing.
OJSC "TGC-1" launched a large reconstruction project Iovskaya HPP of Niva HPP Cascade. The project includes full replacement of rotors, regulation and excitation systems, reconstruction of protection and automatics. More effictive Kaplan turbines will be installed instead of old propeller type turbines. It has reported by the press service of the generating company.
"The modernization will increase the efficiency and reliability of hydroelectric units, as well as extend the working range, which will allow more efficient using of Iovskaya HPP reservoir and promptly adjust the capacity in accordance with the needs of the power system in our region",- said the director of the Niva HPP Cascade Andrey Zharnikov.
According to the plan of work first hydroelectric unit will be replaced in 2013, second - in 2014. Reconstruction of hydroelectric generators Iovskaya HPP is a part of priority projects in the investment program of OJSC "TGC-1".
Iovskaya HPP is located on the river Iova near settlement Zarechensk in Murmansk region on the border with Karelia. Iovskaya HPP is a part of the Niva HPP Cascade OJSC "TGC-1". Iovskaya HPP was put into operation in March 17, 1965. The equipment includes two hydroelectric units with 48 MW installed capacity each one. Average year energy production is 536 million kWh.
