The installation of equipment of hydraulic unit number 1 at Iovskaya HPP is completed.

The installation of equipment is completed under the project of modernization of hydraulic unit number 1 at Iovskaya HPP JSC TGC-1. Test run the machine at idle was successful and experts began the debugging and performance testing of equipment.

Tests include adjustment of systems of control the unit, checking the excitation system, protection and automatic control systems at idle and in the network.

- After the test run of the equipment the unit will undergo comprehensive testing. This means a continuous operation for 72 hours under a rated load and 8 hours with a minimum load. Vibration tests will also be conducted. During all work carried out the continuous monitoring of process parameters of the unit will be held, - said Andrey Zharnikov, director of the Niva HPPs Cascade.

The modernization project includes the complete replacement of hydroelectric water wheels and excitation control systems, reconstruction of protection and automation/ It aims at improving the reliability of the station and a more rational use of hydroelectric reservoirs.
