Iovskaya HPP of JSC TGC-1 receives new equipment.

Large-scale modernization continues at Iovskaya HPP of JSC TGC-1. Core equipment intended for the replacement of the second hydroelectric unit has been delivered to the hydroelectric power plant.

Wicket gates manufactured at Samyoung M-TEK have arrived from South Korea, runner chamber and turbine cover have been delivered from the Italian factory Pelfa Group SRL. Controlled assembly and acceptance of the wicket gates took place in February 2014 in Italy, in the presence of the Power Engineers of TGC-1.

-“The preparation for installation of equipment at the hydroelectric power plant is coming to an end: the old runner has been dismantled, the runner chamber is being prepared for concreting - said Andrey Zharnikov, the Director of the Niva HPPs Cascade, about the progress of works. – Servo-engine and hydraulic power unit manufactured by Gegner Hydraulik GMBH & CO.KG (Germany), excitation and regulating systems were delivered in 2013 with the kit for the first hydraulic unit. At the same time at the Andritz Hydro factory in Graz the acceptance of the runner took place, which will soon be transported to Zarechensk”.

The equipment is designed for the kaplan turbines, which are installed in place of the previously used propeller-type units.

Modernization of the first hydroelectric unit of Iovskaya HPP ended on 21 January 2014.
